PDP Diagnoses APC's 'New Strand Of Genetically Modified Ignorance'

T he state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has taken a very corrosive swipe at its main rival in the state, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in what the party described as APC's 'traditional festival of mud bath'. The APC had in a release titled, 'Can These Propagandist Help Mr Udom Emmanuel?,' drew the attention of the public to a list of 73 persons that went viral on the social media alleging that it was a list of persons who are paid a paltry N50, 000 by the state government to tell lies and cover the government failings. The release authored by its publicity secretary ,Mr Nkereuwem Enyongekere, went on to disclose that the names consists of persons who, according to the APC, had made a career in insulting and abusing APC members on behave of the governor. But the PDP in a response said the release by the APC failed to substantiate their accusation to the effect that a purported list which made its way into public domain was actually a list of paid 'propagandists' to publicise the achievement of the Udom Emmanuel administration. It is illogical and ludicrous, according to the PDP, for the APC to push the faintest notion that Governor Emmanuel will have the need to bankroll 'propagandist' to twist facts to his favour on the issue of his performance. The governor, the PDP said, has earned accolades and commendations from notable Nigerians including former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his sterling performance and futuristic underpinnings pointing out that it is only a party peopled by a handful of retrogressive humans that will try to cover these accolades with their bushel. It reminded the APC that it is a standard and an acceptable procedure for governments and representatives of governments to route all official communications through documents bearing the insignia of such governments. This it pointed out confers a stamp of authenticity and credibility on such documents; a feature that was not present in the said list the APC purported to have come from the state government. "As a party deeply interested in the well-being of Akwa Ibom people, the PDP is beginning to wonder if the handful of people still remainUYO ABUJA ing in the APC's coven sincerely upholds the lies frequently pushed out by their Spokesman as their version of reality about the strides made by the Udom's administration. "The tragedy that will arise from this worrisome situation will be that this handful of people will not rise to take advantage of the sectoral achievements by the Governor Emmanuel's administration to better their personal lots. "We are sad that what was meant to be a political party has been reduced to a band of idlers whose favourite pastime is trafficking in bland, mischievous and puke-inducing lies and gossips. Although our party has elected to occasionally rise to the patriotic duty of stripping the APC of its cloak of genetically modified ignorance, we will do so within the boundaries of enriching conversations and debates while we pray that someday soon, they'll all come within the light of truth and desist from this unbecoming and incessant attempts to discredit or distract the very focused and fruit bearing efforts of His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel.
