Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women Forum Dedicate Selves To God In 2021

Members of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women Forum gathered at Christ Faith Church, Utu Etim Ekpo, Etim Ekpo Local Government to thank God and rededicate themselves to God for the year 2021. The women were led by its president, Mrs Inibehe Salis. It was a celebration of God's faithfulness and protection of the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Akwa Ibom and Nigeria. The women sang and dance as well as share with the less-privileged members of the Christ Faith Church. On behalf of the wife of the governor, Dr. Martha Emmanuel, the president of the forum, Mrs Salis, said the commitment and prayers of the women has helped in the sustained peace and development of the state. The governor's wife called for continuous support for the government as the completion agenda was taking its course as planned. The presiding Bishop of Christ Faith Church, Bishop Awasiakan Otong, said thanksgiving was one of the exercises used by Christians to draw down the blessings of God. Harping on the theme, It is Good to Give Thanks, Otong encouraged the congregation to form the habit of thanking God in every circumstance. The commissioner for agriculture, Dr Glory Edet, who described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a gender-friendly governor said his passion for women inclusion in government was demonstrated in the number of women in position of responsibilities in the administration. She called for total loyalty by the women as the government intensifies efforts toward completing his promise to the people. The chairman, Board of Trustees, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Women Forum, Professor Maria Ikrok, said the organization was out to support government of the day while mobilizing the women to develop their potentials. Others who presented goodwill messages include the chairman, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, Mr Ime Afa and his Ika counterpart, Mr Malachy Ukpe while the wife of the leader, Akwa Ibom House of Assembly (AKHA), Lady Ime Udo Kierian, wife of the vice chancellor, Akwa Ibom University (AKSU), Mrs Ndifreke Esssien, among other women led in the intercessory prayers for the state and nation
